Mail Aliases [ Help Index ]

The aliases feature allows the Administrator to divert email to multiples accounts. Included is the ability to create a catch-all account for a domain, sending all email to a specified user.

The three different alias types include:

Local Alias: This allows you to specify an account to divert to another email address. For example, you can create the alias sales@mydomains.com to forward mail to fred@mydomains.com.

Deliver locally and alias: This alias type forwards the message to the specified account, and saves a copy to the local mailbox. For example, the user sales@mydomains.com will receive email, and the messages will be forwarded to fred@mydomains.com

Domain-Alias / Catch-all: This option diverts all email for the domain to the specified user account. If an email is sent to anything@mydomains.com the message will be forwarded to the specified account, e.g fred@mydomains.com

Virtual Domain: By creating a virtual-domain you can map all incoming email-messages from one domain to another. For example company.net can be automatically forwarded to company.com. This option creates a mask for the specified domain.
