The @Mail Filter System will allow you to modify the @Mail filter options to suit your requirements. @Mail filter options have been based on the Spam Assassin software. (www.spamassassin.org).

The Enable Spam Assassin check box will allow all incoming mails to be filtered.

The Max Message-Size is a limit for scanning incoming mail. If a message is over the maximum message size it will not be scanned, saving CPU time. The limit is in Kb.

Spam points is a system where certain criteria attracts 'points'. For example the word 'viagra' may equal 1 point, and the word 'free trial' may also be 1 point. When an email meets a point limit it is classified as spam and rejected.

Spam Treatment defines what will happen to messages that are classified as spam. "mark as spam' means that the message will have [spam] included in the subject header. 'Move to Spam folder' means it is accusable to users, and can be deleted by the user or the admin in the future. 'Bounced' means that the message is not accepted.

Spam Subject Tag allows you to define what text is added to the subject header of spam mail, such as '[Spam] Free Viagra' or '[checked for spam] xxxx'. This option is only available if you have selected in Spam treatment to mark spam mail.

In Trusted Networks you can specify networks that are always trusted not to contain spam. A network is defined by its IP. For example 192.168.35.12 will trust only that host, while 127. will allow 127.*.*.*

By allowing Spam Report all mails that are marked as spam will have this text as the message body, with the original email as an attachment. This allows users to understand why the message was marked as spam and have the choice to open it or not. If this box is not selected, then the spam message will appear in the email in its original context.

Enable Attachment Check will check emails that have an attachment of a certain file type. Select in the Block Attachments field which file-extensions you wish to block. For example if an incoming email has a .exe or a .pif, the mail will be rejected.
